Description:
The MQ-9 Gas Sensor is a versatile sensor designed to detect both carbon monoxide (CO) and a range of combustible gases, including LPG (propane and butane), methane (natural gas), and coal gas.It utilizes a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductor material as its sensitive layer. The sensor operates by cycling through high and low temperatures. At a low temperature (achieved by a lower heater voltage), it is more sensitive to detecting CO. At a high temperature (achieved by a higher heater voltage), it detects combustible gases like methane and propane and also cleans any other gases adsorbed at a low temperature. The change in the sensor's conductivity due to the presence of these gases is converted into an analog voltage output proportional to the gas concentration.
