đ September 22, 2025 | Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay City
Despite heavy rains pouring over Metro Manila, leaders, innovators, and professionals in advanced manufacturing gathered at the 14th ASTM Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE) Snapshot Workshopâa milestone event hosted at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. This workshop, held in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology â Advanced Manufacturing Center (DOST-AMCen) and the Department of Trade and Industry â Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS), highlighted the Philippinesâ growing role in the global additive manufacturing (AM) community.
What is the ASTM Additive Manufacturing Snapshot Workshop?
The ASTM AM CoE Snapshot Workshop is a traveling program that brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to exchange knowledge and practical insights on additive manufacturing. As a prelude to the ASTM F42 / ISO TC 261 meetings, the workshop provides updates on standards, certification, and real-world applications of AM technologies across industries such as:
-
Defense and Aerospace
-
Medical and Healthcare
-
Maritime and Offshore
-
Oil & Gas
-
Construction and Infrastructure
The 14th edition in Manila marked a significant step for the Philippines, underscoring the countryâs potential to adopt and advance global AM standards.
Makerlabâs Role at the Event
As a proud sponsor of the workshop, Makerlab Electronics showcased cutting-edge consumer-grade 3D printing technologiesâgiving attendees hands-on access to the latest innovations from Bambu Lab and Creality.
Many participants, from technical professionals to policymakers, were excited to see accessible 3D printing solutions that complement high-level industrial discussions. While some attendees were already familiar with Makerlabâs products, others were introduced for the first time to the capabilities of desktop 3D printingâbridging the gap between industry-scale and consumer-driven additive manufacturing.
Showcasing Bambu Lab & Creality
At the Makerlab booths, visitors were introduced to two of the most advanced product lines in consumer 3D printing:
-
Bambu Lab: Featuring the K2 Pro and the next-generation H2D system, known for speed, precision, and smart manufacturing features.
-
Creality: Showcasing reliable and accessible solutions designed for makers, educators, and professionals entering additive manufacturing.
The booth teams provided demonstrations, answered questions, and connected with the AM community about how these technologies could be integrated into professional workflows and educational programs.

A Milestone for Additive Manufacturing in the Philippines
The success of the 14th ASTM AM CoE Snapshot Workshop in Manila reflects the countryâs growing involvement in global standards development and its readiness to embrace additive manufacturing in critical sectors.
For Makerlab, it was an opportunity to highlight how accessible, consumer-grade 3D printing solutions can complement and strengthen the nationâs advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
We extend our gratitude to ASTM International, DOST-AMCen, and DTI-BPS for making this event possible, and to everyone who visited our booth despite the rain.
This milestone is just the beginningâas we continue working with the AM community, Makerlab remains committed to bringing innovation closer to Filipinos.
