A Milestone for CALABARZON
On September 1, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) inaugurated the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen) at the Laguna State Polytechnic University – San Pablo City Campus.
This marks the first AMCen in CALABARZON and the 7th nationwide, reinforcing the government’s push to bring innovation, research, and 3D-printing solutions closer to local industries, schools, and communities.
What is AMCen?
The Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen) is the country’s premier hub for additive manufacturing—also known as 3D printing.
Through AMCen, the DOST provides:
- Access to state-of-the-art 3D printing machines
- Training for students and professional
- Support for MSMEs and industries in prototyping and product development
- Research and consultancy services
It is envisioned to help Filipinos turn ideas into real, tangible products that can drive progress in manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and more.
Why CALABARZON?
CALABARZON is home to some of the country’s biggest manufacturing hubs, contributing nearly half of the Philippines’ industry revenue.
By launching AMCen in the region, DOST ensures that:
- Students gain hands-on access to advanced technology
- MSMEs and startups can prototype products faster and cheaper
- Industries have local support for innovation and production needs
This local facility brings science closer to the people—a true embodiment of DOST’s “Agham na Ramdam” vision.

Looking Ahead
The CALABARZON facility is just the beginning. With more AMCen centers planned across the country, the Philippines is steadily building a strong foundation for inclusive innovation.
For Makerlab Electronics, this is an opportunity to continue empowering local communities—bridging the gap between technology and real-world solutions.
Closing Note
The launch of AMCen in CALABARZON is more than just an opening ceremony—it’s a step forward for Filipino innovation. With DOST leading the way and partners like Makerlab Electronics contributing to the mission, the future of advanced manufacturing in the Philippines is brighter than ever.
