Description:
The MQ-5 Gas Sensor is designed to detect a variety of flammable gases, with high sensitivity to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), natural gas (primarily methane), and coal gas (a mixture of flammable gases). It utilizes a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductor material. In clean air, the sensor has low conductivity, but when flammable gas is present, the gas is absorbed on the sensor's surface, causing conductivity to increase proportionally to the gas concentration. This change in conductivity is converted into an analog voltage output, providing a measure of the gas level.
